On 3.02.2010, the GET Lab organized a ceremony to launch the new robot testing arena. Irtiza Ali and Dirk Fischer designed the arena according to the specifications provided by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The main purpose is to test the autonomous operation of a rescue robot GETbot which is developed and designed in the GET Lab. The GETbot team is preparing to participate in the rescue league competition of Robocup German Open 2010 competition for the third straight year. The availability of testing arena and experiences acquired from the same competition in 2008 and 2009 will further nurture the abilities of the GETbot team.
