With the beginning of the new winter semester, a wiki is used in the course "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering A" for the first time. The wiki provides help with selected mathematical subjects in the situated context of the technical course contents. For this purpose, the lecture notes and the exercise materials are complemented by references to the wiki where the contents are readdressed and deepened. The approach accommodates the fact that the course requires mathematical knowledge which in some cases clearly goes beyond school mathematics but will be presented only later in mathematical courses. The selection of the subjects covered is based on a study which was carried out within the course as well as on the experience of the lecturers.

The mentioned interventions are accomplished in collaboration with the German Centre for Higher Mathematics Education (http://khdm.de) and the subproject "Situated Acquisition of Mathematical Knowledge in Engineering Sciences" (see also here).
