Block II of the visual attention course will be divided into three small blocks, each on a Thursday from 2 to 4 pm.

November 19th Lecture on saliency from a psychological stance (Ingrid Scharlau) Introduction to reading texts from experimental psychology Each participant chooses a text from a list for a presentation * Description of last year's results (Jan Tünnermann)

November 26th 4 student presentations of approximately 15 to 20 minutes each

December 3rd Rest of student presentations Introduction to experimental setup (Jan Tünnermann)

In Block III, each student group of 2-3 persons will Devise an experiment (broad topic: Salicy, comparison of humans and models) Develop the stimulus material for the experiment Program the software (on the basis of an existing C program), Run the experiment and * Analyze the data. This will be done in close cooperation with Jan Tünnermann and Magdalena Rogala from the psylab. Modeling work will be done in cooperation with Dr. Aziz.
