Mobile robots are increasingly employed in search and rescue missions. When moving from one location to the next the robot may of course not run into any obstacles. For a human being, this sounds very simple. A robot, however, has to be programmed specifically for this task. This workshop introduces students to sensors and fundamental algorithms for obstacle avoidance and exploration. Various procedures can be put into operation, modified and tested on GET Lab robots.
